The Dignity of Choice

A respectful farewell.

If you are closing this website because you feel I am judging you from some moral high ground, please give me one more minute of your time.

I am not a professor or a priest. I have no theological degrees and no religious titles. I did not just write this Audit; I live it every single day. Nothing is more true in my own experience than my own wretchedness and my absolute inability to fix myself or pay my debt to existence.

If you look at my ledger, you will find a liar, an abuser, a thief, a pervert, an adulterer, a coward, and a murderer at heart. If you truly knew me, you would hate me. I am a bankrupt criminal, broken at my core. I am not a "good man" telling a "bad person" how to live. I am a man who has completely bankrupted his own soul. I deserve to be cast into the outer darkness. I deserve to go to Hell.

I am not better than you. We are both terminal patients. But I was found by the Physician. I need the Savior more than I need oxygen to breathe, more than water to drink, and more than food to eat. Without Jesus Christ, it would simply have been better for me to have never been born.

I am simply trying to point you to Him as well. You can either allow the Physician to save you, or you can sign the "Do Not Resuscitate" order.

The Consequence of the DNR

This audit was built on the premise that Reality is intelligible and God is rational. A rational God cannot force love. By giving you the ability to say "No," He has endowed you with the terrifying dignity of Free Will.

But I must be completely honest with you about the choice you have made. You have not chosen "nothingness." You have chosen to pay your own ledger.

As we established earlier in the Audit, a crime against an Infinite Creator carries an infinite debt. Because you are finite, if you choose to pay that debt yourself, it logically takes all of eternity to pay it. The Bible does not soften this reality. It describes a place where "their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched." (Mark 9:44)

The lake of fire is not simply a peaceful "separation" from God. It is the terrifying reality of existing in the presence of His absolute, unshielded Justice, with your sins uncovered and His Mercy completely withdrawn. It is torment without end.

I am not telling you this to threaten you. I have no authority to condemn you; the Law condemns us both. I am telling you this because the math of eternity is absolute, and I would be lying if I softened it.

Before you go, I want to correct one lie the culture may have told you. God is not sitting in heaven eagerly waiting to cast you into the fire. He is heartbroken.

"Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die?" Ezekiel 33:11

He takes no pleasure in the destruction of the wicked. And neither do I. How can I? I was one of the wicked. I am not saved because I changed, or because of any good works I have done, which are but filthy rags. But I have been justified by the blood of Jesus Christ.

If your rejection of this Audit is Intellectual—if you feel there was a flaw in the logic, a gap in the reasoning, or a piece of evidence I missed—I genuinely want to know.

I am not afraid of questions. Truth has nothing to hide.

Let's Talk.

Please reach out to me. Tell me exactly where the logic failed for you. I would be more than happy to examine your objection and either respond directly or add it to the website.

Truly, I thank you for taking the time to examine The Audit of Reality. Time is our most precious non-renewable resource, and the fact that you spent it examining these questions means a great deal.

As long as you continue to draw breath, The Savior is drawing you. It is only too late when that breath is taken from you. I will be praying that one day, you might remember the check that is still sitting on the table, endorsed with your name, waiting to be cashed.

If you feel you have mocked Him too much, or rejected Him too long, look at the historical record. When Jesus hung on the cross, both of the dying criminals beside Him initially mocked Him. But somewhere in those agonizing hours, one of them watched the Savior, heard His words, and experienced Metanoia (repentance)—a complete change of mind.

He looked at the man he had just been insulting and simply said, "Lord, remember me."

Jesus didn't mock him back. He didn't demand an apology or hold his previous rejection against him. He immediately accepted the transfer and said, "To day shalt thou be with me in paradise."

It is not too late.
